From the actions of the Sahābah radhiyallahu anhum it shows how much of an impact a good character can make, this is one of the first things Nabi sallallahu alayhi wasallam instilled in them; good akhlāq. The society we live in now distorts our perception of what success is. If we have a beautiful, flawless face then we are deemed to be successful and, in some cases, superior to others. There’s no harm in wanting to look presentable but it becomes a problem when you invest all your time in beautifying your appearance. We need to also beautify our hearts and allow our good character to impact others.

This life is only a temporary abode for us, we need to start focusing on what really matters and hence, should not despair and remain steadfast on the religion.
