This book is a commentary upon Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrῑ (مختصر القدوري) that is not too long neither too short.
However, the author has not commented upon some of the chapters, but instead, has added certain chapters. He uses the Masā’il al-Nawādir and Masā’il al-Fatāwā wa’l-Wāqiʽāt extensively to comment upon various Masā’il. He chooses specific statements of Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrῑ (مختصر القدوري) to comment upon and his language is easy to understand. At times, he mentions the opinion of Imām al-Shāfiʽῑ and the Ṣaḥābah.
A unique feature is that he discusses which scholars gave preference to which view, at times expressing his own preference. Accordingly, the book is beneficial when looking for explicit preferences.
Another unique feature is that whenever he discusses a difference of opinion, he usually follows it up by mentioning where the difference of opinion has an effect. He also presents a number of Aḥādῑth and verses of the Qur’ān as evidence for the various Masā’il found in the book, as well as many logical proofs.
Along with this, he explains the difficult words or terminology found in Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrῑ (مختصر القدوري).
He also assiduously references all the books from which he has gathered various Masā’il, his sources being 42 books some of which we do not have access to yet.
This book is oft-quoted by the later Ḥanafῑ scholars, including Al-Fatāwā al-Hindiyyah (الفتاوى الهندية) which quotes the book over 100 times, Ibn ‘Ᾱbidῑn who quotes the book over 40 times in Radd al-Muḥtār (رد المحتار) and Ibn Nujaym who quotes the book over 50 times in Al-Baḥr al-Rā’iq (البحر الرائق), as well as featuring regularly in Qāsim ibn Quṭlūbugāh’s important work Al-Taṣḥῑḥ wa’l-Tarjῑḥ (التصحيح والترجيح).
