This is considered one of the reliable texts (Al-Mutūn al-Muʽtabarah) within the Ḥanafῑ Madhhab.

It is the original text of the famous book Al-Hidāyah. In this book, the author of Al-Hidāyah combined Al-Jāmiʽ al-Ṣaghῑr of Imām Muḥammad which is considered a part of the most essential books of the Ḥanafῑ Madhhab titled Ẓāhir al-Riwāyah with the book Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrῑ by Imām al-Qudūrῑ which is considered to be one of the earliest and most reliable primers written in the Ḥanafῑ Madhhab.

He mentions in the introduction that the scholars in his region would memorise Al-Jāmiʽ al-Ṣaghῑr by heart which is what prompted him to combine it with Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrῑ. The book itself follows the order of Al-Jāmiʽ al-Ṣaghῑr.

Along with these two books, he added certain Masā’il from Al-Aṣl of Imām Muḥammad.
This book had been unavailable for quite some time, but this is a beautiful well-researched print in which the researcher, the veteran Sā’ῑd Bakdāsh, has relied upon eight manuscripts, including the earliest manuscript found of the book dated to 633 AH.

This is a really nice book for a Ḥidāyah teacher and student. Essentially, the teacher could first go through the entire chapter in this book and then begin Al-Hidāyah. It could also be used as a replacement for Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrῑ for 3rd year Darse Niẓāmῑ students as it would sufficiently prepare them for its commentary, Al-Hidāyah.
